Ford Focus RS Heritage Edition is hot hatch's final farewell

Goodbye Focus RS. Sounds a little too soon to be saying adieu to Ford’s mental hot hatch, but there’s a new Focus just around the corner.

Ford is not only commemorating the end of the Focus RS’s production schedule on 2 April 2018 but 50 years of the Escort name, even though the Escort name hasn’t been used by Ford UK since the first-gen Focus replaced the Escort in 1998.

Anyway, the Focus RS Heritage Edition, to give it its full title, is finished in Deep Orange and comes with a few tasty tweaks.

The tastiest of those are the addition of a Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential for the front wheels and a dealer-fit Mountune FPM375 upgrade. That means 370bhp and a total of 376lb ft on overboost, good for a 0-62mph launch in just 4.7 seconds and a 165mph top speed.

On top of those tasty performance add-ons, the Heritage Edition comes with black forged wheels, grey brake calipers and contrasting black spoiler and door mirrors. Part-leather Recaro seats, heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors and cruise control are all standard, too.

How much? You’ll have to set aside £39,895 of your finest Sterling and just 50 are being made, so if you’re keen, get your order in now.
